About Your Instructor
Mrs. Timerman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Board Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida, a National Board Certified Counselor, and the Executive Director of Advocate2Create (2012).
Mrs. Timerman received her Bachelor’s Degree from New York University in 2009, her Master’s Degree from Barry University in 2012, and is currently a PhD Candidate at Barry University, using her dissertation to further the understanding of Suicide Grief. Her interest in suicide grief started at the prevention and intervention level, working at the 1800-SUICIDE upon receiving her Master’s Degree. In 2013 Mrs. Timerman shifted her focus to postvention, facilitating the Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention (FISP) Miami Survivor of Suicide Loss Group. Mrs. Timerman remains connected to all aspects of suicidology, being one of the founding members of the South Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention.
Mrs. Timerman has extended experience in immigration law, having worked at an immigration law firm while pursuing her Master’s Degree. She provides training and consultation on such topics as Suicide Postvention, Disenfranchised Grief in the Courtroom, Composing Clinical Evaluations for Immigration Purposes, and The Role of Counseling in the World of Immigration.
